JOSE LUIS ZAPATA  is an accomplished industrialist and manufacturer, who started his career at Grupo Zapata, a multi-national corporation with 13 plants across North America, Central America and Europe.  Since 2003 Mr. Zapata has been actively involved in real estate development, delivering such iconic South Florida properties as the Grand Venetian in Miami Beach, The Harbor Center in Aventura, the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort – a recipient of Hilton Worldwide’s Area President’s Award - and most recently the Ocean Resort Residences at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach.

ERNESTO SCHUETZ is an economist and entrepreneur with 20 years of experience in the manufacturing, real estate and media industries. Mr. Schuetz is currently a managing partner of Fort Partners, LLC a real estate development firm with a portfolio of notable properties including the Four Seasons Palm Beach, The Four Seasons Surf Club Residences & Hotel in Miami and The Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences in Fort Lauderdale (opening 2018).

ORCHESTRA HOTELS + RESORTS, a fully-integrated owner of luxury hotel, resort, and residential properties, including The Ocean Resort Residences at Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach, The Pink Sands Resort in the Bahamas, and the award-winning Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. Orchestra Hotels + Resorts’ is led by CEO Andreas Ioannou, a respected hotelier with more than 25 years of luxury hospitality experience at a host of iconic properties including the Fontainebleau Hilton Resort and the legendary Waldorf Astoria in New York. 

Architect

FGS Design is a boutique architecture and interior design firm, based in New York City. The founder and principal, Kiko Sanchez has practiced architecture for over 15 years — six of which he has spent executing projects in the Caribbean. At FGS Design, Kiko and his team approach their projects with high degree of sensitivity to each building’s unique geographical location and client needs. They pride themselves on designing homes that are timeless, refined and executed with careful attention to detail.

In approaching the Pink Sands Resort, Kiko and his team were initially inspired by the history, nature, and overall beauty of Harbour Island, and wanted to incorporate these elements into the overarching design and concept for the resort. The team focused on creating a villa that offered residents a personal, private “at home” experience, while also connecting them to a broader “harbour village” community. In designing the resort, the team was careful to situate each cottage so as to fit naturally within the contours of the Pink Sands site as well as divide the expansive property into a more comfortable neighborhood. They drew inspiration from existing cottages and architecture in the area so as to create a village that — in Kiko’s words —“looks and feels like it’s been around forever.”

Interior designer

ID & Design International, an award winning design firm with global experience, will lead on the refurbishment of Pink Sands Resort.  Founder and President of IDDI, Sherif Ayad’s passion for iconic design combined with a unique business approach to all design solutions has been the cornerstone of the company with recognition around the world as one of the leaders in the design industry since 1979.
